1981 - Pyrex Cups (round-bottom)

This cup style first appeared in the multi-coloured Traditions product line, launched in 1981. In 1982 the classic one-coloured patterns discarded the hook-handle cup in favour of Pyrex cups, and a few years later this group of patterns would be called the Sunrise Collection. This cup style was last available early 1986. The shape is practically identical to the early 1970s cups made of Centura. Dates pertain to this cup style in general; the date range of each individual pattern varies.
 In the 1980s, this shape was always made of Pyrex, although some cups are marked with the company name, "Corning" instead. But the backstamp still shows that they are made of Pyrex, having embossed lettering and a "No Stovetop or Broiler" warning.

One backstamp reads: "PYREX … Microwave Safe … No Stovetop or Broiler … Corning NY USA". The other stamp says: "CORNING … Corning NY USA … Microwave Safe … No Stovetop or Broiler". It is not clear which markings are older or newer.
Although the backstamp does not mention it, this shape does have a model number: 618.
Creamers & Sugar Bowls:
The cream & sugar set that accompanied Pyrex round-bottom cups has more in common with Pyrex flared mugs. Aside from the spout, a creamer from this set is the same size & shape as a flared mug. The sugar bowl is shorter and wider. It is topped by a white plastic lid that is exactly the same shape as an Expressions sugar bowl lid, but it is a different kind of plastic, translucent rather than opaque.
