Pattern List - Pyrex Compatibles

Pyrex Compatibles debuted spring 1972 in three patterns: Butterfly Gold, Snowflake Blue, Spring Blossom Green.  The pattern lists below focus on Pyrex sets that co-ordinate directly or indirectly with Corelle, and other patterns complete the list if they are not too numerous.

Date ranges pertain to the Pyrex shapes & sizes in general; the dates of each individual pattern vary.  As usual, the items listed here definitely exist, but there might be others too.  Jump to: Tabletop Ware.

Ovenware & Nesting Bowls:

300/400-series Round & 440-series Cinderella Nesting Bowls were offered with Corelle patterns from 1972 to 1986.  Butterfly Gold & Spring Blossom Green were updated with new colours and motifs in 1979.

Butterfly Gold (Original & New), Snowflake Blue, Spring Blossom Green (Original & New), Homestead (Blue & Brown), Woodland, Autumn Harvest, Shenandoah, Colonial Mist.

470/480 Cinderella Casseroles matching Corelle were produced from 1972 to 1986.  Butterfly Gold & Spring Blossom Green were updated with new colours and motifs in 1979.

Oval 043 & 045 Casseroles were available during the 1970s.  The 043 was last offered in 1979, but the 045 was not made after 1978.  Both came with patterned opal Pyrex lids initially, but by mid 1977 they were equipped with plain clear lids.  Their lids are 943 & 945.

Divided Dishes were last seen in 1976.  As Compatibles, they have patterned opal non-divided lids and the dish is solid-coloured with no pattern.  They use the same 945 lid as an 045 casserole.  The model number 063 is marked only on divided dishes made during the mid 1970s.  About 1972 the stated capacity changed from 1½ Qt to 1 Qt without changing the shape or size.

Refrigerator Dishes were available up to 1982, when decorated opal sets were replaced by the clear colourless type.  A set includes two 501s, one 502 and one 503.

Baking Pan Sets comprising a loaf pan (913), square pan (922) and rectangular pan (933) appeared with Corelle patterns in 1972, but remained for less than four years.  913 loaf pans are sometimes numbered 813, but it might be an error.  Both are the same size & shape, marked with "8½ x 4½ x 2½".  In company literature they are called 913.

Round 664 Casseroles were available for just a few years during the mid 1970s, last seen in 1976.  Their lids are also numbered 664.

Round 024 Casseroles exist with certain Corelle patterns.  They are probably from the early 1970s, but they are undocumented items and it is not clear whether they are experimental or promotional, or even a product that went no further than the test marketing phase.

Tabletop Ware:

1410 Mugs decorated with Corelle patterns first appeared in 1975 and remained into the mid 1980s.  In 1985, just prior to the discontinuance of 1410 mugs, Butterfly Gold & Spring Blossom Green were the only choices left.

Small Cream & Sugar sets were discontinued mid 1975.  It is unclear exactly when this type was introduced, but certainly sometime between 1972 and late 1973.  The sugar bowl's clear Pyrex lid is flat, with no knob or handle.

Large Cream & Sugar sets were introduced soon after the appearance of Pyrex cups in 1981.  They were dropped in 1986 when opal Pyrex ceased production.  The sugar bowl was paired with a white plastic lid.

Clear Pyrex Shakers
Clear salt & pepper shakers: Snowflake Blue, Butterfly Gold, Spring Blossom Green, Old Town Blue, Woodland Brown, Autumn Harvest.

Salt & Pepper Shakers with a white exterior finish were introduced in 1972, but clear shakers replaced them sometime before 1976.  Shaker sets with this shape were discontinued during late 1982 or 1983, when the Compatibles Tabletop Ware line was dropped.  This type of shaker had first appeared in 1965 decorated with 14 kt gold bands, and a larger size was also offered in that pattern.

White finish: Butterfly Gold, Snowflake Blue, Spring Blossom Green, Old Town Blue.

Clear: Butterfly Gold, Snowflake Blue, Spring Blossom Green, Old Town Blue, Woodland Brown, Autumn Harvest, Almond.

Other patterns: 14 kt gold bands (two sizes).

Napkin Rings debuted July 1974 and were last seen in 1977.  They were sold in sets of six.

Gravy Server sets debuted late 1977.  The set comprises a 77-B gravy boat and a 77-U oval underplate or saucer.  There is just one size, but company literature and original packaging state the gravy boat's capacity differently, either 12 oz or 16 oz.  Gravy sets were discontinued during late 1982 or 1983, when the Compatibles Tabletop Ware line was dropped.

Butter Dishes with Corelle patterns first appeared in 1972, and were discontinued during late 1982 or 1983, when the Compatibles Tabletop Ware line was dropped.  Other Pyrex butter dishes subsequently available in the 1980s were the clear colourless type and dark brown amber ones from the Fireside product line.

Other patterns:  Turquoise Butterprint, Sandalwood, Clear, Fireside.

Margarine Dishes arrived in 1977 and were last offered in 1979.  Although they could be obtained through a mail-in offer from Parkay Margarine, they also could be purchased normally in stores.  They are designed so the small plastic margarine containers fit inside.

Winter Frost White, Butterfly Gold, Spring Blossom Green, Old Town Blue.

The open-handle Juice Pitcher was present at the launch of Pyrex Compatibles in 1972.  The flask-shaped Juice Bottle appeared during the early to mid 1970s.  The Beverage Jug became available in 1977, then returned more than a decade later with a slightly different shape.  Numerous Pyrex pitchers and jugs are also decorated with non-Corelle patterns.

Juice Bottle: Butterfly Gold, Snowflake Blue, Spring Blossom Green, Old Town Blue.

Beverage Jug, smooth neck: Butterfly Gold, Spring Blossom Green, Old Town Blue.

Glas-Snap Mugs with a solid-coloured plastic pedestal base were made for a short time beginning in 1972.  They have an 8 oz capacity and are meant for hot or cold beverages.  There are similar Pyrex items called Drinkups with a round spherical shape, but the pedestal footed type was acknowledged to be an official Pyrex Compatible.  They were described as: "The perfect complement to your Corelle Livingware by Corning."

Butterfly Gold, Snowflake Blue, Spring Blossom Green.  Other patterns: Black.

770 Footed Bowls are a shape borrowed from Pyrex restaurant ware.  It seems that there is no documentation that explains exactly Old Town Blue 770 bowlswhen they were available in Corelle patterns, but they must date to the 1970s.  The bowls might have been offered only in certain regions.  Just two patterns are confirmed so far.

Spring Blossom Green, Old Town Blue.
